Art of Logic
Snodrog's preferred method of reasoning with, and challenging, his foes had reached such an upper echelon of mastery that he had made baffling logical flimflam an art form [The Pedant and the Shuffly, 9]. Much of what the pedant passes off amounts to arguments too difficult for us ordinary folks to follow but that's the whole point, best we can tell. That said, Bowen notes he and Bellairs were required to take a Logic class as freshman liberal arts students at Notre Dame. He admits he has not retained a lot but we thank him for pointing out Snodrog's fallacies - even if we were turned Flimsies long ago.

In a fit of anger against the Shuffly, Snodrog rattles off a powerful curse, full of terms, phrases, and other folderol [51]:

Per ignoratio elenchi
Per argumentum ad hominem
Post hoc ergo propter hoc,
Barbara celarent, Darii ferioque
By the Square of the Opposition, Guardian of the
Undistributed Middle,
And the Sevenfold Veil of Sophistry,
APPEAR
