Compositor, The
Dr. Bustard and Sister M. Floradora argue points about the Lament for St. Floradora in two seperate issues of this magazine in 1935 [St. Fidgeta & Other Parodies, 80].
Myers notes that, in one of its early "Dubious Achievement" issues, Esquire Magazine wrote the Great Bustard was a long-legged game bird that barked like a dog when mating. Esquire's headline for this item was "So Do the Boys in the Mail Room."

Bowen notes the magazine itself may have been intended as a humorous inversion of The Critic, "celebrating as it does the most mechanical and least cerebral form of literary effort."
