The teacher of wizards Prospero and Melichus [The Face in the Frost].
Little is known of Scott’s association with the wizards: as part of their instruction, Prospero and Melichus worked together in the mountains of the Northern Kingdom [106]. Scott evidently had a secret name for Melichus that Prospero later uses to summon his nemesis [152]; it is unknown if Prospero had a similar secret name.
Scott appeared to be on somewhat friendlier terms with Prospero, allowing him to copy sections of his spell book (such as Necromancy spells [69]) and laying a spell on the hearthstone of Prospero’s house [36].
One wonders if Scott was responsible for the strange key Prospero inherited during his travels in the Northern Kingdom. The family that owned the key (labeled “Gwydion of Caer Leon”) had it in their possession for generations with the only instruction that it be given to a man whose name starts with the letter P; Prospero asks if the original owner had a Scottish accent, but the key’s owner has no records or such details.
