After college, spent 3 years in the Navy where he sailed the seven seas visiting such exotic locales as Djibouti, Karachi, and Bahrain. After his tour of duty, he settled down by taking a position with General Motors where he traveled extensively throughout Latin America, Africa and Spain. In hindsight, Al thinks he probably should have pursued a liberal arts education in English or some other such animal for that is obviously where his interests are today. Possesses a staggering amount of information on the fine arts (particularly opera, theatre and classical music) as well as current events of the 60s and 70s.
Quite the music connoisseur (has amassed a collection of over 5,000 CDs), enjoys classical music and opera, is also an avid film buff and enjoys watching the Sopranos on HBO. Describes himself as looking like a manatee in a wet T-shirt contest. Al is retired and lives in Florida with his wife and two Maine coon beauties, Diablo and The Duchess of Timberwind.
